HOME GROWN Iceland Poppy 3500 Flower Seeds Papaver nudicaule
WHAT VARIETY AM I GETTING? This is Papaver nudicaule, the Iceland Poppy, an open-pollinated, non-GMO variety offering a nine-color pastel mix in white, cream, yellow, gold, salmon, apricot, orange, pink, and rose.
WHAT COLORS WILL BLOOM? Iceland Poppy produces single saucer-shaped blooms 2–4 in. across, with crinkled tissue-paper petals and golden stamens, in white, cream, yellow, gold, salmon, apricot, orange, pink, and rose.
HOW EASY IS THIS TO GROW, AND WILL IT GERMINATE? Iceland Poppy seeds need light to germinate, so press them onto the soil surface without burying, and they germinate at 60–65°F in 14–21 days when sown in early spring or fall in zones 8+.
HOW SHOULD I PLANT AND SPACE THEM? Surface sow Iceland Poppy seeds without covering, and thin seedlings to 8–10 in. spacing, since the taproot resents disturbance and direct sowing is always preferred.
WHAT CARE DO THEY NEED ONCE ESTABLISHED? Iceland Poppy needs minimal care: deadhead to extend the bloom period, or leave seed pods to mature...
