D'Addario "XS Series" is a new take on the category of coated strings.
An ultra-thin film coating on all winding strings and a proprietary polymer coating treatment for plain strings to protect the strings from dirt and degradation.
The latest coating technology and D'Addario's proprietary manufacturing techniques are fused to create an innovative coating string like never before.

Ultra thin coating.
Uses an ultra-thin ePTFE film that is less than 1/10 the thickness of a hair produced by a breakthrough new coating technology.
The winding strings are well protected from dirt and dust and provide long-lasting freshness of the tone.

NY Steel
D'Addario's proprietary NY Steel (high-carbon steel alloy) is known as the NYXL and XT series strings, providing overwhelming strength and tuning stability compared to traditional strings.

Fusion Twist
Fusion Twist treatment prevents shifting of tuning caused by loose strings.
This gives excellent tuning stability and increased breaking durability.

■Difference between the "XT" series and the "XS" series
D'Addario coated strings are available in the "XT" series and "XS" series.
The coating structure of XT strings has a special micropolymer coating applied to the winding strings, giving them a more close feel to a non-coated string.
The new "XS" series features an ePTFE film that is 1/10 thinner than a micropolymer and is a coating structure that covers the entire string.
