Sementes De Abóbora Cabotiá Japonesa Hiroko DESCRIÇÃO DA VARIEDADE A abóbora cabotiá Hiroko representa o cruzamento entre antigas tradições agrícolas e seleções modernas voltadas à produção tropical. Sua história começa com a domesticação das abóboras nas regiões da Mesoamérica, passando pelos portos asiáticos e chegando ao Japão no século XVI, onde foi cultivada sob o nome “kabocha”, referência à rota de entrada via Camboja. A cultivar Hiroko surgiu posteriormente como uma linhagem japonesa de frutos firmes, polpa densa e excelente conservação, ajustada às demandas comerciais e exportada para diferentes países. No Brasil, encontrou espaço em sistemas produtivos diversificados, desde que cultivada com outra abóbora compatível, como a moranga, para garantir a polinização cruzada necessária. Os frutos são uniformes, arredondados, levemente achatados, com casca verde-escura e polpa alaranjada de textura firme. Seu cultivo requer espaçamento amplo e apresenta bom rendimento quando bem manejado. A Hiroko é uma cabotiá que mantém, mesmo após séculos de circulação, a identidade visual e agronômica do tipo japonês, sendo reconhecida pela qualidade dos frutos e pela rusticidade das plantas.
